Help on features

question about searching within exports; Value Added

We subscribe to UN Comtrade and I have a particular question about
searching the database. I have a student who is searching for "the
percent of net exports which comes from value-added manufacturing"
for both Columbia and Mexico.

I see that in Data Query Basic Selection Others, one can select
re-Export separate from Exports. However, when I go to the
Glossary, I see re-Export defined as "exports of foreign goods in
the same state as previously imported." However, when I look in the
definition of Exports, I see three types of exports listed,
including "(b) Domestic goods comprised of compensating products
after inward processing," which I believe represents the portion of
exports that the student wants to measure.

It is there any way to break this out in a search? Do you keep
track of that category separately (maybe it could be retrieved in
some other way outside of Comtrade)? If you do not, do you know of
any other entity that might be able to provide this type of data?

Basic Selection Query

When I use the basic selection query, there are no countries to pick from in the Reporters section, nor are there years to choose from in the Years section. Why is that?

I have extracted the world export-import data of certain commodity codes like 530310,531010,531090 etc. I am searching for the world export/import prices of the commodities. is it available in this site? otherwise plz suggest me any other site from where I can get these price data.

My question basically, I use the classification HS1996, and I want to get the total bilateral exports(but excluding the oil exports, which is coded as 27 in this classification). So basically I need (total export-oil export). Since I am looking for the whole pairs in the world, it is easier to find it from your website than going through subtracting each oil exports from each pair by excel.
