Data availability |
| |
Availability of data depends on in
what classification and when comtrade data are reported by countries. Comtrade
have all reported data in their original classification and converted data
(from original one) to all possible classifications. For example: Country
X reported 1997 data in HS88, thus comtrade will stored X's 1997 data in
HS88, SITC.3, SITC.2 and SITC.1. Go to here
to view loaded data. |

Data Download |
| |
Comtrade guest couldn't download. However,
registered user could download data in text file (using CSV format).
User could also be assigned the maximum number of records that can be
downloaded.
The site licenses users will have unlimited number of records
for downloading.
User can download in two ways: direct mode or batch
mode. The direct mode
gives the data immediately but only suitable for a simple and small query
(no groups and less than 150 thousands records). More complex query and
huge data download needs to use batch mode (unattended download, the link
to the compressed result file will be sent via email)

Data Restriction |
| |
Comtrade is capable for enforcing data restriction
for certain users. For examples: User X is assigned Trade With US Only.
See screen snapshot below:
Thus, user X could only view trade data that has US as reporter or US as
partner. If X wants to see trade between France and Sweden, he will get
nothing. This restriction could be defined in any possible combinations
of commodities, reporters, partners, years, trade flows, filtering by trade
value, etc ....
By default, all public users get the "Normal View" restriction.
This view lets access to all comtrade data except the data reported
by Taiwan, Province of China due to political reasons. However, at the
trading partner side, Taiwan is included in partner "Asia Other, not elsewhere
specified" (Code 490). |
